Anise or Pimpinella anisum, is a flowering plant closely related to carrots, celery and parsley. The plant produces small white fruits which we know as aniseed. Anise Seed has a very identifiable black licorice taste and is a common additive to baked goods, desserts and as a flavoring for alcohol.
