About

Costa Rica Tarrazu coffee is a delightful cup with a semi-sweet, well rounded flavor and often a bright lemon finish. Our Dark Costa Rica Tarrazu coffee amps up the traditional taste of this coffee house classic with a much bolder flavor profile, while still maintaining a notably sweet and bright citrus finish.

The climate of Costa Rica is ideal for growing coffee due to dense volcanic soil and warm tropical weather. Tarrazu is one of 4 main growing regions in the country and produces fantastic, high grown beans with high yields. The density of the beans contributes to the full flavor of Costa Rica Tarrazu coffee.

Timeline

Harvest and export times are based off when a particular coffee will be at its peak quality. Cherries picked at the start of the harvest season tend to be underdeveloped, and those picked at the end are often overdeveloped, so producers aim for that sweet spot in the middle.

Costa Rica

The picturesque landscape of Costa Rica is home to some of the world’s most famous coffees. The high elevation—up to 1,800 masl—makes for remarkably distinct coffee, with flavors ranging from sweet wine to cocoa to cinnamon. Costa Rica is known for growing Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) coffee.
