Super fresh and yummy!

"We tend to do a medium roast but were feeling adventerous and it wasn't a disappointment! We have a breville and are always on the hunt for the best espresso bean. The beans were a little on the oily side and did grind a little slower, but what usually is an 18g+ double shot is equivalent to this bean at 17g. It pulls a great shot and flavor stands up well in an americano with my starbucks pumpkin spice creamer :) The breville has made us coffee snobs as it is quite clear how different a fresh roast tastes and pulls compared to an older stale bean. It has been rather challenging to find fresh roasted locally, especially when wanting a 2lb bag as my hubby and I are both in need of our espresso in the morning. The 12oz bag trend is genuinely infuriating. The cost is honestly unbeatable, and there appears to be a bean for everyone on here. I also see you 100% kona. The price for that is expected, and yes, as a ex-big islander, it is so worth it. Very very tempting. . . . . . maybe for a special treat in the future! Excited to try a medium roast single origin next! Very happy with our purchase:)"

Excellent Beans!

"I'm new to Fresh Roasted Coffee LLC. And, I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon this outstanding company. I'm a fan of dark to medium Italian style coffee. I make my coffees mainly using my espresso set up but occasionally using pour over. The FRC Italian roast is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The shots I pull with these beans are consistently delicious, well balanced, and with nice amount of roasty flavor. The beans are excellent in milk drinks (e. g. , lattes and cappuccinos). The bean quality is terrific and they are very easy to use. I've been pulling amazingly beautiful shots. Time to order my 3rd bag!!!"

Lots of people say that dark roasts are not the best for espresso, but this is a dark roast called Italian espresso. Can someone help me understand this contradiction?
Classic Italian espressos are usually made from a blend of various types of Arabica and Robusta coffees taken to a dark roast and our recipe is no different. However, "espresso" is a drink or a preparation method if you'd prefer - not a roast. You can make espresso from single origin selections, light roasts, medium roasts, etc. We've tried some coffees as espresso and found that they were absolutely stellar! Some...well, not so much. Our organic Drago and Dark Nebula blends (in addition to Italian Espresso) were formulated to make delicious espresso and espresso-based drinks. Among the single origin selections, Indian Malabar and Dark Mexican, among others, make a tasty shot. To some extent, it comes down to your taste and what notes you're looking for.
Hello-Hoping to use these beans in my super automatic. However, the machine cannot take oily beans so I am wondering if these are oily. Thanks for any info you can provide.
Hello! These beans are relatively oily due to the dark roast. Customers looking for a bold flavor for espresso we suggest Drago, Anniversary Blend or Tiger & Dark Nebulas. However, customers who prefer a dark roast often blot the beans with a paper towel before running them through their machines. Hope this helps! Team FRC
