Spirulina
What's Inside?
In most warm, alkaline bodies of water throughout the world you can find Arthrospira platensis, a type of blue-green algae. Spirulina, as it is more commonly known, is a rich source of antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Blue-green algae is also a potent source of phycocyanobilin, a super-charged antioxidant which helps the body fight signs of aging and inflammation.
The gorgeous, dark green color isn’t the only special thing about Spirulina. Many consider this algae one of nature’s most powerful greens. In powdered form, it’s easy to sprinkle into smoothies, green juices, seasonings and other recipes. We suggest blending Spirulina with other fruits and vegetables to avoid what some refer to as “sea flavor” – unless you’re into that!
